Charles is an Associate Solicitor, specializing in Residential Property and Matrimonial Law.
Charles studied law at Queens University, Belfast, graduating in 1986. Charles joined Hewitt & Gilpin Solicitors as an Apprentice Solicitor prior to joining AD McClay & Co Solicitors upon qualification in 1989. Charles was made partner in the firm in 2006 and decided to step back from management duties upon AD McClay being acquired by McCay Legal in 2023.
Charles has substantial experience in dealing with residential sales and purchases, Right to Buy, Remortgages, Transfer of Equity and Help to Buy schemes. Charles has excellent relationships with local Estate Agents, Mortgage Brokers and prospective developers in the sale of new build plots.
Charles also leads the firm’s Family Law offering and he has extensive experience in all aspects of Matrimonial Law and the issues which can arise in the breakdown of relationships. Charles has acted in a number of high value divorces and has dealt with a number of Matrimonial Agreements or litigation arising from same.
